Slept in at our most lovely Garden Apartment. Ate a big fish lunch on wooden tables in Fife. Typing to you from an Aussie laundromat! This Aussie place was recommended by our now very best friend in the world, Rick Steves. Rick Steves may be replacing Frommerćs as Wendyćs most favorite tour guide and expert. His recommendations are always spot on.) (Cannot find the apostrophe on this Croatian keyboard, sorry. So far, I have had to deal with German, Slovenian and now Croatian keyboards.)
Zagreb (pronounced /ˈzɑːgrɛb/) is the capital and the largest city of Croatia. Zagreb is the cultural, scientific, economic and governmental center of the Republic of Croatia in the Prigorje region. In 1991, it became the capital of the country following secession from Second Yugoslavia. During the 1991-1995 Croatian War of Independence, it was a scene of some sporadic fighting surrounding its JNA army barracks, but escaped major damage. In May 1995, it was targeted by Serb rocket artillery in the Zagreb rocket attack that killed seven civilians.
